A statement sent to some journalist who requested how the
Monday, 28 January 2019 was fixed for the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal for the judgement of the Ekiti election. The Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola has earlier petitioned the court as to how the election took place and would be expecting favourable judgment.
Prof. Kolapo Olusola is challenging the electoral victory that produced the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi as the Governor.
After the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Fayemi as the winner of the election.
Olusola had asked the Ekiti Governorship Election Petition Tribunal through a 700-page petition, to declare him as the winner of the election “having scored the majority of lawful votes.”
Haven communicated the date to the two parties the tribunal is set to give its final verdict.
The Publicity Secretary of PDP in Ekiti State, Mr Jackson Adebayo and the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Fayemi, Yinka Oyebode have both confirmed the date of the ruling.
