Asari Dokubo, a former militant leader, has said that the
South Korea popular local cable network Chosun TV CEO resigns as audio of his daughter leaked, where she was abusing the driver employed to take her on her rides. The general public lashed out on her because the driver was old enough to be her father since she was only 10 years old and the driver is over 50.
Another local TV station MBC TV released the recording of Mr Bang’s daughter abusing the driver.
The young girl is the grandchild of the president of Chosun Ilbo, the biggest newspaper in South Korea and her father is the CEO of Chosun TV.
In the audio, the girl was herd shouting and abusing the driver. “Hey, you! I will speak to my mum today in order to make you lose your job.”
“You are fired! You are really insane, hey, I’m speaking to you with good words. Perhaps I’m the only person who treats you like this.”
“I told you I don’t want to sit down. Why should I sit down? This is my car, not yours!”
When the driver told her to fire him, she said: “Do you think I would get embarrassed? I’m not such a person who freaks out with this.”
“You are a crippled guy – crippled without arms, legs, face, ears and mouth… especially devoid of mouth and ears… You are insane.”
“Hey, your parents taught you wrong. Huh? All of your family members taught you wrong.”
“I really hate you. I want you to die. It’s my wish.”
In an official statement released by TV Chosun, Mr Bang Jung-oh said he is using the opportunity to apologise for his daughter’s behaviour. He also said that he would resign his position as the CEO of the TV station.
He said: “I express deep regret at causing the public trouble related to my child,” Mr Bang said in the statement. “I will step down from TV Chosun’s presidency to take responsibility for what has happened.”
“I apologise sincerely to the driver, who has been distressed by my daughter’s abusive behaviour.”
