The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has revealed what will happen if the President Buhari probes former president Olusegun Obasanjo for $16 billion power project.
It was reported that in May 2018, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) launched a probe on the controversy surrounding the $16 billion allegedly spent on power projects during the administration of former President Obasanjo who ruled from 1999 to 2007
However, former President Obasanjo responded that he was ready to face any investigation over that $16 billion allegedly spent on power projects in his time as President. President Buhari also suggested that the funds were mismanaged during Obasanjo’s tenure.
However, Shehu Sani reaction to the development was clear as he said it would finger some of the members of the APC who were part of the Obasanjo’s administration.
The Kaduna lawmaker disclosed this on his Twitter page on Saturday.
Sani wrote on his twitter handle: “The ruling party will put Baba Obasanjo for trial for the “$16 Billion power” project, as they are threatening, they will literally find tonnes of stolen cables, high tension wires and transformers in the houses of some of their members, who are now inducted into the hall of saints.”
